What flower do you think represents your personality based on your star sign? In addition to the well known symbols such as the scales for Libra and bull for the Taurus, they are also tied to a certain flowers.

While you may be used to seeing certain traits assigned to your star sign, you may not be quite as familiar with the flower attributed to that sign. Read on to find out if your favourite flower is actually your astrological sign too! Keep in mind that the dates attributed to star signs do differ as there is no one definitive answer, this is due to the different speeds the sun travels at around the earth from one year to the next.

Aries: 21 March – 19 April

Those born under the Aries star sign are said to be quick and eager. The pretty climbing vines of the honeysuckle are the perfect match for this signs – they’re also eager and determined, growing quickly at anything from 7 to 30 feet per year.

Taurus: 20 April – 19 May

The Taurus sign is associated with the bull – meaning those born under this sign are thought to be strong and resolute, dare we say even a little stubborn? The humble poppy, with its fiery red petals, is the floral equivalent, with its resilient nature and natural beauty.

Gemini: 20 May – 20 June

Lucky Geminis have two associated flowers to their name; the fragrant lavender and lily of the valley. Geminis are considered to be expressive, kind and curious, making  these two beautiful blooms the perfect pair for those born between late May and late June.

Cancer: 21 June – 22 July

Intuitive, protective and even a touch sentimental, Cancers have the honour of having the white rose as their astrological flower.

Leo: 23 July – 21 August

Dramatic and outgoing, Leo’s never shy away from being the centre of attention. The sunflower, with its oversized statue and large, colourful head is the perfect flower for this zodiac.

Virgo: 22 August – 22 September

Practical and loyal, Virgos make brilliant friends – if your friend is a Virgo, treat them to a display or bouquet of Alstroemeria or Inca lily, a wonderfully pretty, delicate flower which is often seen in  dusky pink, purple, yellow and white. 

Libra: 23 September – 22 October

Gracious and balanced, the classic rose is the perfect flower for Libras, with its elegance and poise.

Scorpio: 23 October – 21 November

The sign with a sting in its tail, Scorpios are by their sign, passionate, strong willed and not afraid to speak their mind. For this horoscope, something equally fiery and dramatic such as a deep red geranium is the perfect gift.

Sagittarius: 22 November – 21 December

Extroverted and optimistic, this wintery sign pairs with the beautiful Hibiscus – an showy and exotic flower with large trumpet like flowers that come in a wide range of colours.

Capricorn: 22 December – 21 January

Independent, tenacious and driven, the flower of the Capricorn is the pansy. With its bounty of colours, its celebratory hues are the perfect congratulations for determined Capricorns reaping the fruits of their labour.

Aquarius: 22 January – 19 February

A water sign, an Aquarius is said to be uncompromising and original with a vivid imagination. With its beautiful aesthetic and myriad colours, the carnation is the perfect pairing for those born under this horoscope.

Pisces: 20 March – 20 April Affectionate and artistic, the Pisces is best associated with the water lily, a show stopping flower found on water – fitting for this fishy horoscope.
